From the Anxi area of Fujian come the tightly coiled leaves of Iron Bodhisattva or TiKwanYin. Bodhisattvas are enlightened beings who stayed on earth to help others reach Nirvana. A fitting name for a tea that's given us hours of contentment. There are many degrees of roasting these oolongs can take and we like them all. Lightly roasted, the leaves have a heady fragrance of orchids. The tea has a beautiful, pale green infusion with a lush and creamy texture. A heavier roasting brings out rich notes of cocoa, spice and deeper, fruitier accents. Our "Classic Roast" Iron Bodhisattva is Michael's tea of choice for his traditional Chiu Jia Gong Fu Cha ceremony.
