TungTing -Spring Harvest
We're so excited to offer this Special Grade, 2010 Spring Harvest from the famed gardens of Master Lin. Like his winter TungTing offering, this oolong displayed a lovely array of sweet and buttery flavors. We started with a cup of soft orchid notes that spread along the taste buds. More tropical flowers clung to the edge of the gaiwan and our cups. By the third infusion nuttier, roasted notes came forward, accompanied by a clean, mineral element. The clean, refreshing feeling continued till the last drop. The thick, springy leaves unfurled slowly, bringing clarity to every cup. The texture was light yet creamy and by the fifth cup, Dae experienced a pleasant drying sensation along the center of her tongue.
In spite of it's sweet, delicate nature, Winnie found the tea rather filling. There was a richness that saturated the palate and the finish continued to perfume the mouth well after the tasting session was over.

This semi-oxidized, light roasted oolong comes from TungTing mountain in Nantou County in Taiwan.
TungTing can be translated as Cold Summit. While the mountain range of TungTing produces a significant portion of Taiwan's tea, only a small percentage of what is produced is considered premium, high mountain grade.
Traditional TungTing gardens are terraced with short, stone walls and the tender leaves are handpicked during the summer and winter seasons.
