  SaeMidori Sencha
  SaeMidori Sencha

A single bush sencha that has often been compared to gyokuro. This year's harvest comes from the Kagoshima region that escaped the devastating frost in early spring. We like to make this tea on the strong side to bring out it's bright, jade green color and fresh vegetal aroma. Like last season's version, each cupful is sweet and briny with almost no bitterness and a velvety mouth-feel. Our taste buds were piqued by the rich umami flavor.
Many senchas are a blend of two to three cultivars to help maintain a consistent taste every season, but the beauty of a single bush tea is it's distinct personality.
