Details
- This semi-oxidized, light roasted oolong comes from Tung Ting mountain in Nantou County in Taiwan.
- Tung Ting can be translated as Cold Summit. While the mountain range of Tung Ting produces a significant portion of Taiwan's tea, only a small percentage of what is produced is considered premium, high mountain grade.
- Some Taiwanese oolongs like TungTing are considered cooling to the body and can lower blood sugar. This can be problematic for tea drinkers like Dae who are sensitive to cold and can experience unpleasant chills while drinking greener oolongs. A good remedy to enjoying light roasted oolongs is to brew tea made from old trees. The tea leaves will have a stronger chaqi and will not upset delicate constitutions.
