Iron Bodhisattva - Classic Roast

This heavily roasted tea likes to offer up notes of dark chocolate truffle and raspberry. There's a deep, nutty aroma that fills the teapot and becomes more fruity with each steep. Soft plummy notes slowly perfume the mouth with each sip. Later infusions reveal the sweet and floral side of TiKwanYin. It's always a treat to drink this tea. Dae and Winnie find it soothing and helpful for easing tension in the body.
Michael will usually use the Classic Roast for his Chiu Jao Gong Fu Cha ritual. When prepared in this classic way, the tea becomes a bolder declaration of itself. Richer and more concentrated with an almost chewy texture, the sharp edges give way to a long sweet finish. Serve this tea in white porcelain to show off it's beautiful russet hues.

Iron Boddisattva is an oolong that is also known as TiKwanYin and Iron Goddess of Mercy
Our Classic Roast is an exclusive blend that requires both a spring and autumn harvest to achieve it's rich, full-bodied flavor. The two harvests are combined before roasting and undergo an initial light firing to stabilize the tea oils and compounds before a final intense roasting.
Because this is a natural product, every year brings us a tea with slight variations in the flavor profile.
