This rare, limited production tea comes from the "Neck of the Phoenix", an area that shelters the original Phoenix Mountain tea trees, the parent plants of other Phoenix cultivars. Along with the pedigree comes a very distinct tea with large, fragrant leaves. Beautiful orchid notes grace the subtle body of this tea. There's more flowers than fruit in each cup with a soft, dry texture. A sweet, woody fragrance lingers at the bottom of the cup. Make time for this tea to best appreciate the long, luxurious finish which will leave the mouth feeling sweet and refreshed.
Dae felt the cha-qi was slow to build but lasted several hours. Michael can taste the high mountain character of the tea leaves and says the lengthy finish is indicative of the trees' old age.
